Philip Morris, the Tobacco firm, has been thwarted in their threat to sue the Australian government for their laws for plain, brand-less packaging for cigarettes. Supposedly, it eliminates their ability to compete against other brands, but the government argues that eliminating brand identification will make smoking less attractive to non-smokers and possibly curb smoking rates. They may set a precedent for other countries in the fight against tobacco addiction. But has the government gone too far?

What do you think?
