General Motors Co. CEO Dan Akerson is asking for “some relaxation” in the restrictions on executive pay imposed by the U.S. government. Akerson said that they need to be competitive and retain talent and that they’re already losing talent now.

After it was bailed out by the Obama administration following its bankruptcy, is a better executive compensation package something that the taxpaying public will finds acceptable?
