>>>Google sure seems to be showing that it’s a big believer of the adage “if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again”. After several earlier failed attempts to take on Facebook in the social media space, Google is at it again with the it’s most recent social networking service dubbed as the Google+ project. It reportedly looks a lot like Facebook and is currently being used by a select group of Google users who are expected to invite others soon to the service.
But, aside from its similarities with Facebook, what Google+ project seems to be banking on is the differentiation strategy it is putting in place in order to compete with Facebook. For starters, “it is meant for sharing with groups — like colleagues, roommates or hiking friends — not with all of one’s friends or the entire Web. It also offers group text messaging and video chat.” We’re also assuming it’s going to addressing privacy issues better which, on Facebook’s end, has been a consistent pain for Facebook users.
