The same study also found that African-American boys are getting lower grades. Over 40 years after the civil rights movement influenced legislation that sought to establish the abolition of public and private acts of racial discrimination of African Americans and other disadvantaged groups, the United States seems to still be suffering from unresolved issues involving race discrimination. There are those though that would argue that the issue is not an issue of race but of upbringing and/or other factors that impact performance and the acquisition or good social skills.
