A book, authored by Pastor Pearl, is being criticized for advocating corporal punishment in the bringing up of children. Coincidentally (or maybe not), in two cases that involved the death of two children due to abuse, the parents were found to own a copy of the pastor’s book. People have opined that the book may have played a role in the children’s death. Currently, some states only prohibit corporal punishment in school while most states turn a blind eye to it. Should there be a law to completely prohibit corporal punishment in any circumstances?
