>>>Every year, Her Majesty the Queen annually gives her Birthday Honours to several people who are successful in their respective fields as a way of recognition for their service to her and to England. Some of these honors are the Order of the British Empire (OBE), knighthood, Order of the Garter, etc. Although these honors are so grandiose that every English lads and lass must have been aspiring to get one, it is not unusual for someone to refuse receiving the honors. In 2003, Guardian columnist Benjamin Zephania said that he refused the honor the Queen was giving him because he was anti-empire. Now, if the Sovereign offers you a knighthood would you be rebellious enough to refuse the honor of “serving the Queen”?
