>>>After more than 100 million album sales into his career, British singer and drummer Phil Collins has said bye-bye to the music business. According to the report, the 60-year old musician said that his retirement was not down to "dodgy reviews", "bad treatment in the press" or "because I don't feel loved.” "I am stopping so I can be a full time father to my two young sons on a daily basis," he wrote on his website. The singer has two sons, Nicholas and Matthew, with his third wife Orianne Cevey, whom he divorced in 2008.
A former member of rock band Genesis, Phil Collins has sold an estimated 100 million albums as a solo artist. He has won seven Grammy awards and was also a recipient of an Academy award for his soundtrack for the Disney animated film Tarzan.
Phil Collins also said that he now feels like an outsider in the music industry. "I look at the MTV Music Awards and I think: 'I can't be in the same business as this,'" Collins said in the interview. "I don't really belong to that world, and I don't think anyone's going to miss me. I'm much happier just to write myself out of the script entirely."
