Amidst polling numbers that the US and its allies do not have a clear plan for Libya, President Obama made the argument that inaction in Libya would have meant allowing for mass graves and the slaughter of innocent lives. Conversely, he claims that it would have been a betrayal of who we are as Americans....

He emphasizes that Libya is an isolated case, and definitely not a template for foreign intervention. This, as he claim that the US " has the unique ability to stop the violence, an international mandate and broad coalition." It must be noted though that he hasn't sent ground troops and will hand off the lead to NATO troops. But essentially, the Nobel Peace Prize winner has presented his case for justifiable war. Oh what a tangled web this has all turned out to be.
