According to two polls that came out recently, many Americans want to see the rich paying higher taxes. By “the rich”, it means those households that are making $ 250,000 and up a year. Interestingly enough, the politicians seem to want them too. The idea being thrown out there is that taxing the rich more can help ease the deficit. However, given that they are not enough rich people out there to really make a significant tax contribution to address the deficit problem, would such a measure even make sense?
