Constitutional Initiative 26, or the so-called "personhood" amendment to the state constitution, seeks to define life "to include every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning, or the equivalent thereof."
The people behind the initiative are looking forward to it being passed so that it could provide a legal challenge to abortion rights in the country.
However, voters in Mississippi just recently defeated the ballot initiative that would give the “personhood” amendment a fighting chance for enactment.
