According to a new study, 70% of illegal aliens in Texas are reportedly on welfare while 54% of legal immigrants are on it as well. Also, according to a report released Tuesday by the Center for Immigration Studies, 57% of immigrants with children - illegal of otherwise - use at least one government welfare program. Meanwhile, only 39% of native-born Americans with children are signed up for welfare.
Texas tied with California and New York for the second highest immigrant welfare rates behind Arizona.
