Since air travel involves the movement of large numbers of people in closed and semi closed settings, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that “cramped aircraft quarters may facilitate the transmission of influenza virus from person to person or through contact with contaminated surfaces.” Yet, according to aircraft engineers the air in aircraft cabins are well ventilated that it will prevent bacteria and viruses to spread. Air ventilation also circulate around filtration that catch these nasty critters.
But microbiologists are still saying that diligent hand washing and by using hand sanitizers is still the most effective method of getting rid of airplane bugs. As the saying goes, “an ounces of prevention is better than a pound of cure.”
