The National Employment Law Project recently reported that several states are making major unemployment insurance benefits cuts due to insolvency issues. Some 30 states have already borrowed from the federal government a whopping $40 billion just to pay for unemployment insurance benefits and interests on those loans will begin this coming September 30. However, the problem with insurance benefit cuts is that it increases the number of unemployed Americans that will be without much-needed government assistance.
