>>>Aaron Hess, a 33-year old police officer, fired four rounds into the Nissan Altima that contained college football player Brandon Cox, 20, and his friend Danroy Henry, Jr., also a football player. Hess, a former Marine who had served in the Pleasantville, NY police force for seven years, had never fired his gun at anyone in the line of duty. Both Cox and Henry have no record of getting into trouble except on that fateful morning.
According to Hess, he heard another officer yell at Mr. Henry to stop his car and when that instruction was not observed, Hess fired. Mr. Cox, on the other hand, said “in a recent interview that he did not hear or see anyone instruct Mr. Henry to stop his car. He said that Officer Hess had suddenly stepped out from between two parked police cruisers with his firearm already drawn and grasped in both hands.” An autopsy report released from the medical examiner’s office revealed that Mr. Henry was legally drunk during the fatal shooting. Speculation is fuelling what led to the death of Mr. Henry.
