>>>Perhaps as a compromise on the issue of gay marriage, Gov. Scott Walker's predecessor Jim Doyle proposed a registry that would facilitate granting same-sex couples more legal rights and to defend it further, he filed a motion with Dane County Circuit Judge Daniel Moeser for summary judgement to uphold the proposal. Except when now Gov. Scott Walker entered the office, he claimed that he didn't want to defend the proposed registry because he felt that it was unconstitutionally so he, in turn filed a motion with Judge Moeser to withdraw Doyle's defense of the registry. Gov. Scott Walker referred to a legal opinion issued by Attorney General JB Van Hollen which concluded that the registry was unconstitutional because it mimicked marriage. Walker's lawyer emphasizes that forcing the new Governer to defend a motion that he doesn't agree with is unjust. But what do you think? Is the Domestic Partnerships Registry legal or is it unconstitutional?
