>>>With the unveiling of President Obama's National Security Strategy, it is apparent that America is going towards a different direction. Arguably still the world's only superpower, President Obama's America rejects the previous administration focus on counterterrorism without discounting it as a priority. With the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan still going, the Obama administration has made it clear that perhaps a change of strategy is needed. One that might not be so direct, and may take more time—but definitely one that will take into consideration globalization and how its has empowered many other countries.
Some pundits see this as the weakening of the country, while others see it as a way of working with the future global situation. Hopefully one without threat of nuclear war.
Climate change, cyberthreats and our dependence on fossil fuels are also considered as issues of national security, a direction that was attempted by the Bush administration but will definitely have more weight in this National Security Strategy of the Obama administration.
