To convince the Republicans to move about reducing the federal budget deficit, the White house is allegedly ready to cut tens of billions of dollars from controversial Medicare and Medicaid in exchange of the Republicans also allowing some movement on accepting increasing taxes. The administration claims that the proposed cuts will not affect aiding those who Medicare and Medicaid the most nor will the program be restructured radically. Of course, there are those who scoff at that claim. The lobbyists for hospitals are on a campaign to block the cuts.
