He did not exactly say what he means by an “absurd amount of money” but it’s been pretty clear to a lot of people that Gingrich blames the unions for making union worker pay exorbitantly higher than it should be. He even went to the extent of declaring that an entry-level gets paid twice as much as an entry-level teacher. A quick check of the facts would of course show that this statement is inaccurate. However, a similar quick would also show that cleaners get $18 an hour.
