But others disagree, beauty contestants are not exploited, they are empowered. Beside, it seems people who are against beauty contests are looking at it only from a certain perspective. Let’s be honest, when we are looking at women contestants in a beauty contest, we feel they are being exploited, yet we don’t say that about men wearing bikini underwear in a similar contest. Is this a double standard? Some even say that cries of sexism are just arguments used by feminists that they are being belittled by men, even without basis. But with beauty contests being all about woman's beauty, aren't we actually honoring a woman's place in society?
What do you think?
