Australian researchers are suggesting that nuns should take contraceptive pills as a preventive measure for some cancers. This is in the light of findings that contraceptive pill use can decrease the odds of developing breast, ovarian and womb cancer. Nuns, according to researchers, have a higher risk for certain cancers because of their celibate lifestyle. However, the Roman Catholic church is against the use of contraceptive pills although the church has never spoken against the use of these pills for cancer prevention reasons.
