Most people would prefer that their medical state of health be a private and confidential matter known only to themselves, their closest friends, relatives and their physician. But with the increasing popular use of Facebook and other similar social media sites among professionals, the possibility of sensitive patient information being shared accidentally or consciously, categorically or by implication seems to go up when a professional has a social media profile. More so if the doctor is not all too familiar with the workings of a “Privacy Setting”.
