It's an argument that includes such controversial issues as homosexuality (which has roots in genetics,) talent (same thing here,) and even criminal behavior. But at the center of everything is the belief that humans can be infinitely improved discounting the limitations provided by genetics and physiology. Except when faced with the simple reality that there are difficult children coming from parents who are, in the context of horrific neglect to unbelievable abuse, decent human beings—what is one to think? Are there really just those who are bad seeds?
