Navigators have turned to them for guidance because they are unchanging, being someone's North Star is testament to your fidelity. In the same manner, astrologers have taken the stars as a way to explain certain events and define fate—as if the stars themselves were the gods they were named for. As Romeo and Juliet were star-crossed lovers, modern man has still sought the aid of the stars, what is definitely arcane knowledge in the age of space exploration. It tells you one of two things: stars truly have a form of power or humans still don't have a clue of what they're doing on Earth.
