>>>Republican candidate Tim Pawlenty seems to have p(aw)lenty to talk about lately. And, it’s all about the truth. On CBS’s “Early Show” recently, Pawlenty told Erica Hill “We’re going to have to look the American people in the eye and tell them the truth, and that’s what I’ll be talking about.” Pawlenty has recently made clear his intention to seek the Republican presidential nomination.
A lot of the interviews that he has granted recently seems to be focused on telling the truth. With NBC’s Matt Lauer, Pawlenty said “President Obama unfortunately doesn’t have the courage to look the American people in the eye and tell them the tough truth...I’ll do that.” Being the truth-teller seems to be Pawlenty’s differentiation strategy from the other presidential wannabe’s. Question is, can he deliver? People have already been digging up the dirt, so to speak, on Pawlenty and are finding little fibs here and there that may prove to be detrimental to his presidential aspirations. But that’s politics, right?
