Read more …When Republican Delegate Bob Marshall of Virginia expressed his opposition to the state funding for Planned Parenthood last year, perhaps he didn’t expect it to still haunt him this year. In the course of his speech against Planned Parenthood, he said that the “number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children.” He further declared that in the Old Testament “the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest.”
Marshall later accused certain sectors of taking his statements out of context. He eventually apologized after his remarks went viral in social media and sparked outrage.
