During World Ward II in Great Britain, when things were so depressing that some of the leaders at that time were seriously considering capitulating to Adolf Hitler, Churchill rallied the people behind him and moved the country to fight back. He refusal to consider defeat, surrender or a compromise peace. His bull-doggedness inspired the British resistance, especially during the difficult early days of the War when Britain stood alone in its active opposition to Hitler. Churchill used to the power of words in his speeches and radio broadcasts which was a significant factor in inspiring the British people to hang on and fight in the war.. He led Britain as Prime Minister until victory had been secured over Nazi Germany.
