Read more …In countries where people can be considered as ignorant on a scale that is large enough for them to significantly influence the outcome of elections, shouldn’t there be some law that disqualifies them to vote? At the moment, the qualifications required for anybody to vote generally involves only the following: meeting the minimum voting age (18 in most countries), being a citizen of that country, being a resident of the area one is voting in, of sound mind, not a convicted felon, and registration that one is a qualified voter. However, does it not make sense that people should be qualified to vote in terms of their political knowledge and awareness of pressing issues that could affect a country as well?
