During a press briefing at the hotel where Libyan president Gaddafi is staying, a woman burst in claiming that she was raped by 15 men. The woman was immediately set upon by supporters of the president, claiming that she was lying and telling her that she was a traitor. The misogynist response of denial at a cry of rape is not surprising and only underlines the difficulty of the situation in Libya. But was the woman just crying wolf? Or was she brave enough to tell the truth? Though she can not be found by the international press seeking to verify her story.
