President Obama used the Oval Office to address the nation amidst the BP oil spill tragedy. He also used it as an opportunity to call out to America for support regarding Energy Reform, now known as the American Power Act (Kerry-Lieberman). Obama says the only cost we can't afford is inaction, while the Republicans say the nation can't afford it at all. They also say that energy reform would mean the possibility of increased taxes. In these desperate times of belt-tightening, is saving the environment worth letting go of a few bucks through tax that could have been money in the bank?
