If anyone has ever been a student, knows a student, has a student, etc. then they know that they can be willful, spiteful, and at times will seek revenge ~ NOT ALL but some. We have seen several students make pretty little patterns on their score sheets instead of reading the test questions, for whatever their reasons. Why should a teacher's evaluation be affected by these children? Why shouldn't the parent have to pay a price in this somehow? The only one we can see paying a price in all of this is the teacher ~ nothing is said to the student ~ nothing is said to the parent. This is one viable option we have considered and we are interested in seeing what everyone thinks. Tennessee's tests for the most part are graded as Below Basic, Basic, Proficient, and Advanced.
