According to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), many of these experiments cause pain to the animals involved or reduce their quality of life in other ways and that more than a million animals suffer and die every year in cruel chemical, drug, food and cosmetic tests, biology lessons and medical training exercises. Millions of animals also suffer and die inside classroom biology labs from experiments and dissections.
Yet for those who support animal experiments, it will produce such great benefits for humanity that it is morally acceptable to harm a few animals. They maintain that the good done to human beings outweighs the harm done to animals. Animal experiments are crucial in finding treatments from AIDS, heart related diseases and cancer.
