Japan is considered as one of the most robo-friendly country in the world. With robot-led weldings, robot factory workers, and even robot pets becoming increasingly more common there, it would make intuitive sense to assume that research in in-home helper bots would be widespread in that country. On the contrary, as in elsewhere, that is still not the case. As it turns out, the old and the sick in Japan still prefer the human touch. It is projected though that the younger generation, that is currently used to technology, may just be open to the idea.
