Poll Analysis

In what seems to be an attempt to make the sport more “appealing” to audiences, the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) handed out athletic skirts to semi-finalists and finalists for them to use in the ring. The customary ring attire include shorts and tank tops. AIBA president Ching-Kuo Wu denies that this move by the association is intended to feminize women boxers. According to him, the intent is to allow for better recognition of which boxer was male of female.
